BAGS OF MONEY GET TOSSED AS OBI CUBANA BURIES MUM

BAGS OF MONEY GET TOSSED AS OBI CUBANA BURIES MUM

There was an extravagant display of wealth in Oba, Anambra State, the home town of the Chief Executive Officer of Cubana Group of Companies Limited, Chief Obinna Tochukwu Iyiegbu, when he buried his mother.

Africunia TV gathered that weeks to the burial ceremony, all the hotels in Oba and neighboring towns were fully booked. The occasion was graced by innumerable superstars, business tycoons and top politicians that sprayed humongous amounts of money in bags, in addition to several gifts given to the host before the event, including cows, foodstuff and drinks. The business colossus received over 246 cows of which 46 cows were brought by one of his associates, Cubana Chief Priest.

From the aggregation of money donated by his friends and associates, which went viral on social media platforms, Obi Cubana got over N250 million. The nightclub boss also bought a diamond chain and pendant which had his late mother’s face engraved on it. According to a source, the night club owner is not the richest young man in Igboland, but because he invested massively in human development, those he raised came to honour him. Chief Iyiegbu, who has an empowerment empire, has raised thousands of multimillionaires in Igboland.

The funeral rites started on Thursday, July 15, 2021, with a service of songs and Christian wake, followed by the burial and reception the next day at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Oba Anambra State. A thanksgiving service is also scheduled for Sunday, July 18, at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church, also in Oba. People who could not attend the event physically also had the opportunity of watching it online, as it was live streamed on the Internet.

Much to the chagrin of people that hate wasteful spending, the corpse of Obi Cubana’s mother was entombed in a golden casket worth over N30million. Some of the guests at the event include a member of the House of Representatives and Club Quillox’s proprietor, Shina Peller; pop star, Davido; D’banj, Alex Ekubo, Kenneth Okonkwo (Kcee), Emeka Okonkwo (E-Money), Poco Lee, Ubi Franklin and many more.
